Winnie was a 'failed' working dog on our family farm, so I (April) took her on when she was about a year old! We've navigated a lot together, from a degenerative joint disease to reactivity, but we've made huge strides in her training over the years - now reactions are few and far between!

Winnie has inspired me to start my journey in becoming a certified dog trainer and behaviourist, and together we've launched our own brand, APAWLO Pets, with the purpose of helping other dogs unleash their extraordinary potential. This brand also funds our fostering efforts with working dog rescues around Australia.

But, one of my proudest achievements with Winnie is building an incredible community of over 3.1 million people around the world who unconditionally love Winnie for Winnie, with all her quirks.

Most memorable moment:

Being invited to speak at the Brisbane Dog Lovers festival in 2024! As a reactive dog, this was a huge milestone and we were proud to represent and inspire other reactive dog owners!

Favourite location/activity:

We love to visit our family farm and let Winnie sprint back to the house at the end of a work day! Otherwise, we love bush walks and paddleboarding together.
